The Seasonal Human Resource Association was born from the National Park Hospitality Association. National Park Hospitality Association members are exclusively approved to provide lodging, food services, gifts and souvenirs, equipment rentals, transportation and other visitor services in the National Park System. During the course of NPHA’s history, it was suggested that the H2014SeatedGroupSmilesR managers and directors might also benefit from this unique niche industry collaboration, and voila!

The 2016 Conference will be our 28th Annual event.  As participants come from many areas of the country, there are no other meetings throughout the year – simply the annual event. Networking during the conference draws these niche industry representatives together, opening doors for future communication and outreach.

Conference attendees range from brand new HR Managers to seasoned veterans. First year attendees are warmly welcomed and have the opportunity to get to know 2014KevinBoat“conference repeat offenders” quickly and easily. We have organized presenters, agenda and work to be done, and yet there is never a lack of laughter, smiles and comfort in knowing there are other people facing the same (or more difficult!) challenges. The conference has a fun, engaging energy – you won’t be sitting still for long, and we guarantee you’ll leave with new ideas and inspiration.

The Association began as a stand-alone trade group. National park concessioners such as Xanterra Parks and Resorts, Delaware North, ARAMARK Leisure, Forever Resorts, and Princess Tours are often represented, along with other properties from across the country. While attendees represent seasonal employers, many operations also have full-time, year-round staff on board as well. The diverse audience at a SHRA conference ranges from one-person HR offices to HR Managers, Recruiting Managers, General Managers, and HR Directors/VP’s at a corporate level. We have had ski area representation as well, working nicely for cross-season comparison with the (mostly) summer s2014LinedUpeason employers. Over the years, CoolWorks.com has grown from a participant to a sponsor. SHRA benefits from the financial support and long-term relationship with CoolWorks.com and the CoolWorks’ Team.
